FAQ for CPR AHA

A: After choosing which class you’d like to take, click on the “View Upcoming Classes” link which will direct you to our scheduling calendar. Or you may email CPR@IdahoAcademy.com for further class information.

A: It depends – Is it required for your place of employment to obtain a course completion card? If so, ask your employer or organization for specifics regarding which class you need. Please see individual class descriptions to help you decide and you may also visit the AHA (American Heart Association) website for further class descriptions or the American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) website for general CPR and First Aid information.

If you work in a healthcare facility or are a healthcare provider, then you will most likely need the AHA (American Heart Association) BLS (Basic Life Support) CPR course for Healthcare Providers. Check with your employer if you are unsure.

If you are still unsure of which class to sign up for, then please contact us prior to registering.

A: Yes.  Our group discounts start with only 8 students. Learn more here . If you do not have a group, then you will sign up individually and pay the regular full price  of the course.

A: Yes.  We may be able to teach at your facility under most circumstances.  To learn more visit Group Class.

American Heart Association requires all students to have access to a student manual before, during, and after the class. General public classes will have a digital copy of the manual included with the class. Advanced classes such as BLS, ACLS, and PALS will have the option to purchase the manual during registration or on their own beforehand. This allows for those students who may already have a current provider manual. Some classes will have personal CPR barrier devices, pocket masks, and mini trauma kits for purchase.

Make sure to wear comfortable clothing.  You may be on your knees on the floor, depending on what course you signed up for.  You may want to bring a snack and water if you have signed up for a class that is longer than 2 hours.   Please be on time, as there will be no admittance and no refund if you arrive 15 minutes or more late.  See our Cancellation Policy here.

It can be if you have an injury or back, knee, or joint problems, or other health issues.  If you have physical challenges then please let us know and we will work to accommodate your needs.  Please check with your physician prior to signing up for a CPR AED course if you have concerns.

The ability to perform CPR is based more on body strength than age.  According to studies, children as young as 9 years old can learn and retain CPR skills.  You’re never too old to learn CPR either!

You will receive a full refund if you cancel more than 48 hours prior to the start date and time of the class.  If you cancel less than 48 hours, then you will not be refunded.  See Cancellation Policy  page for more information.

We teach American Heart Association (AHA) for our healthcare provider classes and American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) for our basic general public classes. We also offer NREMT classes such as PHTLS, AMLS and other specialty classes such as Stop the Bleed and Situational Awareness.
