Yes, upon completion of all phases of the IMA Online AEMT course (didactic, skills, clinical rotations) you will be approved to schedule your NREMT cognitive exam. Successful completion of the NREMT cognitive exam will result in NREMT certification.
The time it takes to complete the course varies from student to student. Most students complete the online course within 3-4 months. The skills portion of the course takes 5 days and can only be attended after completion of the online portion of the course. Clinical rotation scheduling is dependent on student and site availability.
Students are given access to the online portion of the course by email immediately after completing the course registration process and payment.
No, skills week is a requirement for all students.
Yes, students may do clinical rotations in their area if they prefer. It will be the students responsibility to find and confirm a clinical site in their area if they would like to do clinical rotations outside of one of our current clinical partners.
At the completion of the program, the student will demonstrate the ability to comprehend, apply, and evaluate the clinical information relative to his/her role as an entry level Advanced EMT.
At the completion of the program, the student will demonstrate personal behaviors consistent with professional and employer expectations for the entry level Advanced EMT.
Idaho Medical Academy LLC is recognized as a training institution by the Idaho Department of Emergency Medical Services and is registered as a proprietary school with the Idaho State Board of Education.
This course was designed in accordance with the National Registry and State of Idaho AEMT Curriculum. This course will provide education in the treatment and transport of ill and injured patients in the emergency setting. Additionally, successful completion of this course will make the student eligible to take the exams required to obtain a national certification as an AEMT. This course includes lectures, demonstrations, practical skills, instruction and clinical hours. Clinical hours are mandatory and are in addition to scheduled class time.
You will learn through theory and practical application how to be professional Emergency Medical Technicians at an advanced level of care. Students are prepared through lecture, laboratory, and clinical experiences.
Graduates from this program receive an Advance EMT Certificate of Completion from Idaho Medical Academy. Successful completion of the program allows students to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Advanced EMT certification examination and apply for licensure as an Advanced EMT.
