Our Phlebotomy Technician course is designed for those who learn best in the traditional classroom setting. Our in-depth, comprehensive phlebotomy course prepares students for employment in various settings including healthcare, wellness, and beauty industry. The profession of phlebotomy is taught through lectures, laboratories, and clinical experiences. The student will be trained to perform a variety of blood collection methods using proper techniques and precautions, including vacuum collection devices, syringes, capillary skin punctures, and butterfly needles. Emphasis will be placed on infection prevention, proper patient identification, proper handling of specimens, and quality assurance.

With Idaho Medical Academy

Multiple payments are accepted. Half of the total tuition must be paid prior to the start date of the registered course. The remaining balance can be split into three additional separate payments. A 10% fee is applied to the remaining unpaid tuition balance at the start of class.

Phlebotomy Exam Options and Certification

IMA strives to set up students for success after the course is completed. Employers may request additional certifications for employment in addition to your IMA certificate. To help students be successful, if your employer requires a national phlebotomy exam for employment, a National Phlebotomy test preparation is included in your course. Students can apply for different national certifications that the employer request for employment, and students will need to record their skills, class time, externship, or employment. Most National Certification agencies will have three ways to become certified, completing a Phlebotomy course through IMA, healthcare experience, and Military Healthcare Experience. Examples of national agencies that certify phlebotomists, along with the title and corresponding initials awarded, are listed in the following table below.

Our Phlebotomy Technician training is designed to prepare students to work in a variety of healthcare settings including a laboratory or hospital setting, and emphasizes infection prevention, proper patient identification, proper handling of specimens and quality control. Students participate in a simulated clinical experience in a lab setting.
