Idaho Medical Academy's Phlebotomy Technician program is built to set you up for success after the course. Employers may ask for a national certification in addition to your IMA certificate, so a national phlebotomy exam prep is included in your course. You can apply for whichever national certification an employer requires, recording your skills, class time, externship, or work experience as part of your application. Certification and what to know. Idaho does not license or require state certification for phlebotomists, so there’s no state-specific phlebotomy license to look for. Idaho Medical Academy is registered as a proprietary school with the Idaho State Board of Education.
Our course prepares you for national certification, and we offer on-site testing at our Boise campus so you can certify without traveling. National certification is optional and not required to work as a phlebotomist in Idaho, but many employers prefer or require it, so we build the course to make sitting for a national exam straightforward if you choose to.
A high school diploma or GED is required to be eligible for national certification. You must be 18 years or older, or 16 with a guardian’s permission.
