Emergencies don’t wait for a vet appointment. This 4-hour, hands-on class gives pet owners the confidence and skills to respond when it matters most — whether that’s a cut on a hike, an overheated pup on a summer walk, or a choking scare at home.
You’ll learn how to recognize and respond to the emergencies pet owners are most likely to encounter, with plenty of time for hands-on practice and your own questions.
What you’ll learn:
Bleeding control — how to assess and stop bleeding safely
Wound care and cleaning — proper technique to prevent infection
Heat and cold emergencies — recognizing heatstroke, hypothermia, and hypoglycemia, and what to do for each
CPR and choking response — step-by-step technique for dogs
Anaphylaxis and envenomation — spotting allergic reactions and bites/stings, and how to react
Emergency preparedness — how to safely move or extract your pet from a dangerous situation
Building a pet first aid kit — what to carry and why
