“I was hired as a fulltime firefighter for Payette City Fire Department and that is without a doubt due to EMA. The training and guidance I received during the course of earning my EMT certification was outstanding. You taught me not the how, but the why. Provocation and palliation. Rate, rhythm, and quality. Treat the patient not the equipment, the list goes on. 8 years in the Army as a paratrooper, then getting out you find yourself searching for that thing that gives you purpose and direction. I knew it was becoming an EMT. I remember the first thing you said. “We are students because we are all learning together.
