Advanced Emergency Medical Technician Course and Certificate Program (Hybrid)

Idaho Medical Academy’s Self-paced Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) Hybrid Course is designed to allow you to earn your AEMT certification from the comfort of your home in combination with required in-person training and extended classroom time compared to our Online Course. This course will consist of 12 weeks of Online learning with 6 weeks of In-person material. IMA ensures that during your hands-on skills lab week you will be training with experienced, providers.

Complete Your Online Course

Our hybrid course consists of 12 weeks of online learning. Students will follow a set schedule weekly with due dates for assignments, quizzes, etc.

Complete Your In-Person Training

Upon completion of the online component, students will attend 6 weeks of in-person training with experienced providers.

Finish Clinicals and Test!

After completing your course and clinicals, you will be eligible to take your NREMT test!

Our Hybrid AEMT course provides a great pathway to those who cannot commit all their time to in-person training. Our online program will guide you through the basics and review material learned as an EMT while the in-person component will focus on expanding your skillset and provide quality training.

Course Requirements:

The clinical site may allow waivers for certain immunizations (COVID for example). Clinical sites allow student to apply skills they learn during lab in real world situations. IMA ensures that during your skill labs you will be training with experienced providers.

Objectives:

Program Cognitive Objective:

At the completion of the program, the student will demonstrate the ability to comprehend, apply, and evaluate the clinical information relative to his/her role as an entry level Advanced EMT.

Program Psychomotor Objective:

At the completion of the program, the student will demonstrate technical proficiency in all skills necessary to fulfill the role of an entry level Advanced EMT.

Program Affective Objective:

At the completion of the program, the student will demonstrate personal behaviors consistent with professional and employer expectations for the entry level Advanced EMT.

Idaho Medical Academy LLC is recognized as a training institution by the Idaho Department of Emergency Medical Services and is registered as a proprietary school with the Idaho State Board of Education.
 
This course was designed in accordance with the National Registry and State of Idaho AEMT Curriculum. This course will provide education in the treatment and transport of ill and injured patients in the emergency setting. Additionally, successful completion of this course will make the student eligible to take the exams required to obtain a national certification as an AEMT. This course includes lectures, demonstrations, practical skills, instruction and clinical hours. Clinical hours are mandatory and are in addition to scheduled class time.

You will learn through theory and practical application how to be professional Emergency Medical Technicians at an advanced level of care. Students are prepared through lecture, laboratory, and clinical experiences.

Graduates from this program receive an Advance EMT Certificate of Completion from Idaho Medical Academy. Successful completion of the program allows students to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Advanced EMT certification examination and apply for licensure as an Advanced EMT.
